Derfen doesn't stain hands or skin. But it can leave stains on clothes.

That is why the bottle has been equipped with a specific applicator that makes Derfen an "easy to apply" product. Any affected area will become reachable and you will not slather it all

As far as the hair of your horse is concerned, it will take a couple of days for Derfen to disappear. Don't apply some just before a horse show !!!
