Seasonal Summer Recurrent Dermatitis has typical symptoms : the horse is rubbing its tail or mane and has areas without hair. But be careful, these symptoms can be triggered by something else. They can be brought about by allergies(such as to dust mites, midges , lice...). A non up-to-date worm may also lead to rubbing(specifically area around the tail). It is essential your horse should be checked up by your vet to get a comprehensive diagnosis. Even if Derfen works on all types of skin to relieve the itching,it will heal your horse but you still may need further treatment to cure it. Check with your vet because more than 40% of what looks like SSRD is in fact not SSRD.
