Derfen effects can be diffrent on your horse body. Skin mane and skin tale for exemple are not the same. The epiderm is bigger or thiner. The best way to have a very efficient result with Derfen is to apply the oil each time you see your horse itching and directly on the the concerned zone. You can apply it 1 time per week on the mane and 2 or 3 times per week on the tale for example. it depends of your horse 'skin.
